NOTES
04/02/08 1 1.6 6 22.8kg, approx 85% weight bearing,
Tends to ‘dot and carry' left hind, tried to increase speed, but lifts leg completely!
06/02/08 2 1.6 4 Still ‘dot and carry', I lifted good leg and took most of weight & Poppy started to use leg properly, nervous of treadmill sensation therefore guarding. Hopefully has now gained confidence to use.
08/02/08 3 1.6 10 Just about uses most of the time.

Can take weight on left hind leg, (wobble test), but chooses not to, thus muscle is not returning as it should, (catch 22 - if used leg, muscle would return, without muscle, doesn't want to use leg!)
Stifle has excellent range of movement - flexion & extension, there is no swelling of the joint and no heat, and Poppy is happy for me to move it.
So; challenge is to get her to use the leg as I know she can- Dressing applied to RIGHT hind paw- her good leg!
With the dressing on the opposing foot, Poppy was forced to take more weight on her left leg & proved that she can!
I have supplied her owner with some cohesive dressing to be applied daily for 10-15 minutes at a time.

19/03/08 17 2.0 11 minutes -10% incline Can definitely see on high incline that Poppy is capable of using her leg to push forward.

Still on going on treadmill......................................
